AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American jumper Erin Kasper (Amherst/Marion Steele) has been named the OAC Field Athlete of the Week.
Kasper won the high jump and finished fourth in the long jump to lead BW to a second place finish at the Goucher (Md.) College Track & Field Classic on Saturday. She earned a career-best leap of 5 feet 7 inches in the high jump which is currently the best mark in the country. In the long jump, Kasper had a season-best mark of 17'0.5''.
In her career, Kasper earned All-OAC honors a season ago with a third place finish and was a national qualifier in the high jump. She also was named a CoSIDA third-team selection. Kasper also earned All-OAC honors in indoors and was All-American as a junior.
BW is back in action on Saturday, April 1 when it travels to Danville, Kentucky for the Centre College Invitational inside Farris Stadium.
