BW Women’s Tennis Team Beats Muskingum, 9-0, in Mason

MASON, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team won 96 of a possible 100 points as it defeated Ohio Athletic Conference rival Muskingum University by a 9-0 shutout today in a dual match at the Linder Family Tennis Center near Cincinnati.  The OAC scheduled a number of men's and women's dual matches today and tomorrow at the nationally-renown tennis facility.

With its win, BW is 7-11 overall and 3-3 in the OAC. Muskingum is 1-7 overall and 0-5 in the OAC.

The Yellow Jackets led 3-0 after doubles play as the number one duo of sophomore Kelsey Blatt (Tallmadge) and senior Morgan Baker (Vermilion/ Elyria Catholic), the No.2 tandem of sophomores Mackenzi Baker (Vermilion/ Elyria Catholic) and Mackenzie Donalson (Hilliard/ Davidson) and the No.3 duo of freshman Claire Watts (Medina) and senior Whitney Yoder (Medina) each won by an 8-0 shutout.

In singles action, No.1 player Blatt won, 6-1 and 6-0; No.2 Morgan Baker won, 6-0 and 6-0; No.3 Watts won, 6-2 and 6-0; No.4 Donalson won, 6-1 and 6-0; No.5 Yoder won, 6-0 and 6-0; and No.6 senior Liz Keller (Cincinnati/ Walnut Hills) won, 6-0 and 6-0.

The Yellow Jacket women are back in action on Wednesday, April 16 when they host an OAC match against Ohio Northern University at the "Pop" Collins Courts at 3:30 p.m.
