BW Women’s Tennis Team Loses at Mt. Union

ALLIANCE, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team lost at Ohio Athletic Conference rival the University of Mount Union, 8-1, today in a dual match at the Whitehill Tennis Courts. This was the final OAC regular season match for the Yellow Jackets.

With its loss, BW is 7-13 overall and 3-5 in the OAC and plays its final two non-conference matches next week and prior to the OAC Tournament. Mt. Union is 12-1 overall and 6-1 in the OAC.

The Purple Raiders led 2-1 after doubles play as the number two duo of sophomores Mackenzie Donalson (Hilliard/ Davidson) and Mackenzi Baker (Vermilion/ Elyria Catholic) were the only Yellow Jacket victors as they won 8-6.  Mt. Union captured all six singles matches in straight sets.

The Yellow Jacket women are back in action on Monday, April 21 when they travel to Wooster, Ohio to play The College of Wooster at 4:30 p.m.  The final regular season match is at home on Wednesday, April 23 against Ohio Wesleyan University at the "Pop" Collins Courts at 4:00 p.m.

The 2014 OAC Tournament begins April 29 with the OAC Final Four taking place at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio on May 2-3. The winner of the OAC Tournament advances to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
