Brie Martineau '20 Named Women’s Lacrosse Assistant Coach

BEREA, Ohio - Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse six-year Head Coach Nicholle Shoger has announced the addition of Brie Martineau '20 as assistant coach.

"I am extremely excited to add Brie to our coaching staff," Coach Shoger said. "As a former standout attacker for us – she understands our program inside and out. Her passion and desire to be back at BW was evident during the interview process and I cannot wait to see her pour that into our players and staff here."

Martineau comes to BW after serving as the head coach at the local Padua Franciscan High School in Parma for two years. She created the program at Padua Franciscan and handled everything in that program from the training and strengthening of lacrosse skills to preparing schedules, organizing transportation, and managing supplies/equipment.

Prior to coaching, Martineau was a 2020 graduate of BW, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing. She was a four-year women's lacrosse varsity letterwinner and a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection. She began her career under previous Coach Kim Russell before playing her last three years under Coach Shoger. In her final two seasons with the Yellow Jackets, Martineau led the team in goals and points. She holds three records at BW including shots on goal in a game (11), free position goals in a game (4), and free position shooting percentage in a game (1.000 – 4/4). Martineau also is in the top-5 in nine different categories on the all-time program leaderboard.

"Joining the Baldwin Wallace Women's Lacrosse Staff is a dream come true, especially being able to now work alongside Nicholle," Martineau commented. "I am really looking forward to getting started and serving this program in a new way."

Martineau has also coached for Ohio Premier Lacrosse Club for the last four years. Along with coaching, Martineau has worked at TEKsystems as an account manager and a technical recruiter over the last two years and had many jobs while attending BW.

BW ended the 2022 season with an overall record of 6-11 and 4-4 in conference play.
