Three Women’s Lacrosse Athletes Earn All-OAC Honors

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Three Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse student-athletes have been selected to the 2023 All-Ohio Athletic Conference teams as voted by the coaches in the league.

Junior midfielder Deanna Loukas (Tuckahoe, N.Y./Eastchester) and sophomore defender Lauren Comack (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) were named to the first team while senior midielder Kaitlyn Hradek (Olmsted Township/Olmsted Falls) earned honorable mention honors. 

Loukas earns her third consecutive All-OAC honors after having another career year. She led the team in goals, points, draw controls, and caused turnovers. Loukas was second on the team in assists and ground balls. Her 30 caused turnovers this season was good for fourth-best in the OAC, she was also sixth-best in ground balls (43), 11th in goals, and 12th in draw controls.

Loukas has tallied 110 goals in her career, ranking her sixth all-time in BW women's lacrosse history, and makes her just the seventh to surpass the 100-goal mark. Also in her career, Loukas ranks first in goals per game (2.34), first in free position shooting percentage (60.6%), fourth in draw controls (135), fifth in caused turnovers (72), sixth in shots on goal (179), sixth in ground balls (118), seventh in points (133), seventh in points per game (2.83), eighth in free position shots (33), 10th in assists (23), and 13th in assists per game (0.49).

Comack earns her first conference honor as she appeared in and started all 16 games for the Yellow Jackets this year. She was second on the team in caused turnovers, leading the defense, and was third on the team in ground balls. In the OAC, Comack's 28 caused turnovers was good for sixth best and her 36 ground balls ranks 13th.

After just her second year on the field, Comack has played in 26 games, posting 44 ground balls and 33 caused turnovers. She ranks 17th all-time at BW in caused turnovers.

Hradek earns her second straight All-OAC recognition, appearing and starting in all 16 games. This season, Hradek was second on the team in goals scored (25), points (27), draw controls (46), and was fourth in caused turnovers (17). She also added 16 ground balls and two assists.

In her career, Hradek ranks 10th all-time at BW in career games played (53) after the conclusion of her four years at the University. She also ranks fifth in draw controls (120), sixth in eighth in caused turnovers (47), sixth in free position shots (45), ninth in goals scored (77), ninth in free position goals scored (15), 11th in shots on goal (127),  12th in points (87), 13th in goals per game (1.45), 14th in points per game (1.64), 20th in ground balls (66), and 24th in assists (10). 

BW finished the 2023 season with an overall record of 3-13 and a record of 1-6 in the OAC.
