Edwards Named to WBCA Division III All-American Team

ATLANTA, Ga. --  Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic and Academic All-OAC women's basketball forward Lilly Edwards (Dublin/Coffman) has been selecyed as a Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division III All-American honorable mentiion selection.

Edwards, who garners her first accolade, is one of the 40 best players in Division III to be selected by a committee of coaches.

"We congratulate the 10 members of the 2021 WBCA NCAA Division III Coaches' All-America team for what they have accomplished in this challenging season," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "These young women have worked to elevate their teams and themselves to an elite level of competition. Through their exceptional talents on the basketball court, they have also lifted the women's game."

This is the fourth post season accolade for Edwards as she was previously selected as a second-team D3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region selection, first-team All-OAC selection and a College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District 7 selection.

This season, she led the team and the OAC in scoring and rebounding with career-highs of 18.1 points-per-game and 10.3 rebounds-per contest.  She was third on the team with a career-best 30 assists. In addition, recorded 17 steals and three blocks.  

For her career, Edwards has appeared in 69 games and has scored 862 points and grabbed 846 rebounds.   She ranks third in school history in points-per-game with 12.5 and is seventh on the school's all-time rebounds-per-contest list with 7.0. Edwards was also the OAC Freshman of the Year in 2019.   Off the court, she is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

BW finished the 2021 season with a record of 8-4 and third in the OAC with a mark of 8-4.   The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Tournament Championship game for the second straight season.
