Edwards and Garret Selected to OAC Women’s Basketball Team

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC forward Lilly Edwards (Dublin/Coffman) and senior guard Gabby Garrett (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) have been selected to the OAC Women's Basketball team.

Edwards, who earns her third accolade, was named to the first-team after being tabbed as a second-team selection in 2019 and a honorable mention pick in 2020.  Garret, who garners her first honor, was selected to the second-team.

Edwards led the team and the OAC in scoring and rebounding with career-highs of 18.1 points-per-game and 10.3 rebounds-per contest.  She was third on the team with a career-best 30 assists. In addition, recorded 17 steals and three blocks.  For her career, Edwards has appeared in 69 games and has scored 862 points and grabbed 846 rebounds.   She ranks third in school history in points-per-game with 12.5 and is seventh on the school's all-time rebounds-per-contest list with 7.0. Edwards was also the OAC Freshman of the Year in 2019.   Off the court, she is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

Garrett was second on the team with a career-best 10.7 points-per-game and second in assists with 30. She also tallied 47 rebounds,  23 steals and four blocks.  Garrett scored a career-best 22 points in back-to-back games to open the 2021 season.  For her career, Garrett appeared in 94 games with 498 points, 149 points, 110 assists, 98 steals and 12 blocks. She ranks ninth is school history with a .7892 free throw percentage. 

BW finished the 2021 season with a record of 8-4 and third in the OAC with a mark of 8-4.   The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Tournament Championship game for the second straight season.
