Cosart Garners First Career OAC Softball Weekly Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University softball freshman left-hander Abby Cosart (Lima/Bath) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the first time in her career.

Cosart garners her first weekly accolade after she won four OAC games as BW swept three OAC doubleheaders last week.  With its six wins last week, the Yellow Jackets vaulted themselves to a fourth place tie in the OAC standings.

For the week, Cosart picked up her team leading sixth OAC victory and her team-best second OAC shutout.   She made four appearances with three complete games with an earned run average (ERA) of 1.93.  Cosart allowed 10 runs (eight earned) on 30 hits with seven strikeouts.

In her first season, Cosart has an overall record of 7-4 and a mark of 6-1 in the OAC.   She has appeared in 15 games with 10 starts, eight complete games, two shutouts one save and a 3.11 ERA.  Cosart has allowed 44 runs (32 earned) on 85 hits with 28 strikeouts in 72 innings pitched.

BW closes out the regular season portion of its schedule on Saturday, April 28 when it hosts an OAC and Seniors' and Parents' doubleheader against OAC-leader Otterbein University on the BW Softball Field at 1 p.m.
