Men’s Cross Country Finishes as Runner-Up at Inter-Regional Rumble

OBERLIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team finished as the runner-up in the Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin College at the Oberlin College Cross Country Course.

BW was the runner-up out of 27 teams with 123 points while Case Western Reserve University was the team champion with 46 points.

Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets was sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Josh Hickmott (Clay, N.Y./Liverpool) with a 17th-place finish in a time of 26 minutes, 13.1 seconds. Junior Nick Irwin (Westlake) was BW's second-best runner with a career-best time of 26:23.1 to place 22nd.

Senior Spencer Mahon (North Royalton) and junior Academic All-OAC performer Isaac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion) finished back to back in 26th and 27th places in times of 26:27.1 and 26:27.4 while sophomore Spencer Roberts (West Seneca, N.Y./West) rounded out the top five with a 37th-place finish in a career-best time of 26:33.9. All of BW's top five runners finished within 30 seconds of each other.

BW will look to carry over this strong performance to its next meet at the 2018 OAC Championships, hosted by the University of Mount Union on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Sable Creek Golf Course in Hartville.
