Men’s Cross Country Finishes Fifth at OAC Championships

HARTVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team finished fifth at the 2018 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by the University of Mount Union at the Sable Creek Golf Course.

BW finished fifth of nine teams with 108 points, finishing just one point behind host and fourth-place Mount Union. Otterbein University took home the men's team title with 38 points.

The top 18 runners at the meet earn All-OAC honors with one through nine receiving first-team accolades and 10-18 landing on the second team.

Two All-OAC performers led the way as sophomore Josh Hickmott (Clay, N.Y./Liverpool) and junior Isaac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion) each earned second-team honors. Hickmott repeated as an All-OAC performer and placed 15th in a time of 27:08.1 while Wilson was just a few spots behind in 17th place in 27:13.2 to garner his first All-OAC accolade.

Junior Nick Irwin (Westlake), senior Spencer Mahon (North Royalton) and sophomore Jose Reynoso (Painesville/Harvey) rounded out the top-five runners for the Yellow Jackets. Irwin finished in a time of 27:22.0 to take 21st place, Mahon placed 23rd in a time of 27:24.1 while Reynoso cracked the top-five for the first time this year to place 38th in 27:53.6.

BW will race again on Saturday, Nov. 10, in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships, hosted by Franklin (Ind.) University at Blue River Park in Shelbyville, Indiana.
