Two Men’s Cross Country Student-Athletes Selected to Academic All-OAC Team

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Two Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country student-athletes have been selected to the 2018 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Senior Phil Spronz (Strongsville) and junior All-OAC performer Isaac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion) are two of the 54 Yellow Jacket student-athletes to be recognized this fall.

Spronz, who earns his second consecutive Academic All-OAC honor, is a marketing and finance double major who carries a 3.63 GPA. He is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar, a member of the BW Italian Club and a Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society member. Spronz was also a 2017 summer intern in the Center for Innovation and Growth. He had a season-best 8k time of 27:42.6 at the All-Ohio Championships.

Wilson, who also garners his second straight Academic All-OAC accolade, is an exercise science major who carries a 3.72 GPA. Academically, he is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a BW Academic Excellence Award recipient. On the course this season, Wilson earned his first career All-OAC honor after a 17th-place finish at the OAC Championships, secured his second straight All-Ohio honor with a 19th-place finish at the All-Ohio Championships and was named OAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time in his career. He ran a season-best and career-best 8k time of 25:37.4 at All-Ohio.
