BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's cross country teams both competed today (Saturday, September 13, 2008) at the Bowling Green State University Mel Brodt Invitational Meet in Bowling Green, Ohio. The men finished 11th of 17 teams and the women finished 12th of 18 teams. This was the third week of competition.
Highlighting the meet for the Yellow Jacket women was sophomore Kim Chinn (Zanesville/West Muskingum), the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, as she finished first of 21 runners in the Division III catagory and 25th of 177 total runners and completed the 5K course in 19:23.79. For the men, senior Nate Bowen (Fremont/ Ross) placed first of 21 runners in the Division III catagory and 47th of 174 total runners. He completed the 8K course in 27:46.17.
In addition to Chinn and individually, sophomore Karin Coyne (Columbia Station/ Columbia) placed 67th in 20:24.99, sophomore Kathy White (Berea) placed 74th in 20:38.65, sophomore Krysten Kovach (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Franciscan) placed 93rd in 21:07.93, and sophomore Emily Oliver (Waynesburg/ Sandy Valley) placed 94th in 21:08.26.
In addition to Bowen for the men, junior Jimmy Eberts (Canton Canton/ Hoover) was 75th individually in 28:32.82, junior Mark Buhoveckey (Brunswick/ Parma Padua Fransiscan) was 81st in 28:42.66, junior Jeff Bonezzi (Medina/ Senior) was 82nd in 28:46.31 and junior Brian Campbell (Berea) rounded out the top five as he placed 104th in 29:26.03.
