BW Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Place 12th and 10th at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Meet

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University women's and men's cross country teams both competed today (Saturday, October 18, 2008) at the Oberlin Inter-Regional meet in Oberlin, Ohio.  The Yellow Jacket women placed 10th overall out of 27 teams with a total of 302 points.  The men finished 12th overall out of 30 teams with 368 points.

For the men, senior Derek Hill (Fremont/ Ross) led all Yellow Jacket runners by running the eight-kilometer course in 25:01.  He placed seventh of 271 total runners.  Senior Nate Bowen (Fremont/ Ross) placed 23rd overall in a time of 25:30.  Junior James Eberts (North Canton/ Hoover) placed 91st in 26:28.  Junior Mark Buhovecky (Brunswick/ Parma Padua Franciscan), junior Brian Campbell (Berea), freshman Zach Szablewski (Tiffin/ Calvert) and freshman Drew Beck (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua Academy) also competed.

Individually for the women, junior D'Arcy Hlavin (Berea) led the women Jacket runners in the six-kilometer course  in 22:23.  She placed 17th out of 232 runners.  Sophomore Karin Coyne (Columbia Station/Columbia) finished 40th overall with a time of 23:08.  Senior Ashley Scullion (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) finished 44th overall with a time of 23:10.  Junior Brittany Giesken (Ottawa/Ottawa-Glandorf), sophomore Krysten Kovach (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Franciscan), sophomore Katie White (Berea)and sophomore Emily Oliver (Waynesburg/Sandy Valley) also competed.
