BW Men and Women Each Finish Seventh at the Calvin (Mich.) Invitational Cross Country Meet

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University cross country teams both competed today (Saturday, September 20, 2008) at the Calvin College Invitational Meet in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Yellow Jacket women had 169 points and were seventh as a team, and the men totalled 219 points and also placed seventh.

For the women, sophomore Kim Chinn (Zanesville/ West Muskingum) led the way and placed 14th individually in a season-best time of 18:52 overall. Chinn was followed by junior D'Arcy Hlavin (Berea) in 23rd place in 19:18, sophomore Katie White (Berea) was 36th in 19:55, junior Brittany Giesken (Ottawa/ Glandorf) was 47th in 20:13 and sophomore Karin Coyne (Columbia Station/ Columbia) was 49th in 20:16.. 

Individually for the men, senior Nate Bowen (Fremont/ Ross) led the way as he placed 21st overall in 26:12. He was followed by senior Derek Hill (Fremont/ Ross) in 38th place in 26:54, junior Jimmy Eberts (North Canton/ Hoover) in 51st place in 27:56, freshman Zach Szablewski (Tiffin/ Calvert) was 53rd in 28:06 and junior Jeff Bonezzi (Medina/ Senior) rounded out the top five in 56th place in 28:22.
