Thompson Competes at NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships for Second Straight Year

SHENANDOAH, Texas – Baldwin Wallace University junior All-American Tyler Thompson (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) competed in second consecutive NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at Conroe Independent School District (CISD) Natatorium.

Thompson qualified for the championships in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard breaststroke after winning both events at the Ohio Athletic Conference championships in February. He also swam the 50-yard freestyle as a bonus race.

In the 100-breaststroke, Thompson swam a time of 56.09 seconds in the prelims but did not qualify for the finals. He came into the event with a BW and OAC-record seed time of 54.27 seconds.

In the 200-breaststroke, Thompson had a time of 2:07.10 in the prelims but was unable to qualify for the finals. He entered the event with a school-record time of 2:04.69, which was 22 one-hundredths off the OAC-record.

In his bonus event of the 50-free, Thompson swam a career-best time of 21.62 in the prelims.
