Men’s Soccer Battles Elements, Ties Ohio Northern in Double Overtime

ADA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team battled through high winds and a rain/snow mix on its way to a 1-1 Ohio Athletic Conference tie with Ohio Northern University inside Kerscher Stadium.

BW (0-1-1, 0-1-1 OAC) is now 1-1-1 in the last three meetings with Ohio Northern (0-1-1, 0-1-1 OAC)

The Yellow Jackets and Polar Bears played to a scoreless first half.

BW broke the scoreless streak in the 71st minute when junior midfielder Nick Surowicz (Medina/Highland) scored his first goal of the season and the third of his career off the assist from sophomore defender Zach Hoover (Chagrin Falls). Ohio Northern scored the equalizer in the 87th minute when junior All-OAC forward Seth Gundlach found the back of the net off the assist from senior forward Zach Yoder.

The Yellow Jackets and Polar Bears battled to a back-to-back scoreless overtime periods.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, March 21 when it hosts an OAC game against Otterbein University in their home opener on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 2 p.m.
