Men’s Soccer Drops 2021 Spring Season Opener to Capital

BEXLEY, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team opened its 2021 spring season as it fell to Capital University in an Ohio Athletic Conference game by a final score of 3-1 in Bernlohr Stadium.

The first half was defensive struggle until late. Capital (1-0 OAC) opened the scoring when junior midfielder Chase Geddis found the back of the net at the 40:10 mark.

In the second half the offenses started to open things up. The Crusaders extended their lead to 2-0 was when freshmen midfielder Jack Kossoudji scored at the 50:44 mark. BW (0-1, 0-1 OAC) cut the deficit to 2-1 when senior midfielder Owen Feeley (Elma,N.Y./Iroquois) scored his first collegiate goal off the assist from freshmen defender CJ Kessler (Madison) at the 75:02 mark. Capital closed out the scoring in the 80th minute when freshman forward Jack Francisco scored the final goal.  

In net for the Yellow Jackets, sophomore netminder Nolan Kellogg (Strongsville) took the loss as he as he allowed three goals on 16 shots with four saves. 

BW is back in action on Thursday, March 18 when it travels to Ada for an OAC game against Ohio Northern University.
