BEREA, Ohio— The Baldwin Wallace men's soccer team knocked off Muskingum University on Seniors' Day in an Ohio Athletic Conference match by a final score of 2-1 at Tressel Field.

The Yellow Jackets and Muskies played a defensive first half. Both teams struggled to find an opening on the offensive end. Each team took three shots without finding the back of the net in the first half.

In the second half, the offenses started to open things up. Muskingum (0-5, 0-5 OAC) struck first when freshmen defender Trevor Firkel scored at the 73:11 mark. BW (2-1-2, 2-1-2 OAC) was able to respond at the 77:25 mark when freshmen defender CJ Kessler (Madison) found the back of the net on a feed from freshmen midfielder Julian Kieres (Lakewood) to tie things up.

After regulation, the game headed into a tightly contested overtime period. BW was able to edge out Muskingum when junior midfielder Nick Surowicz (Medina/Highland) was able to score off a rebound on goal.

In net for the Yellow Jackets, sophomore netminder JT Brenneman (Willoughby/Wickliffe) got the win as he allowed one goal on nine shots.

BW is back in action Thursday, April 1 when it hosts an OAC game against John Carroll University on Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 7 p.m.
