Men’s Soccer Picks Up for First Win of the Season, Defeats Heidelberg

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team picked up its first win of the 2021 season as it defeated Heidelberg University by a final score of 2-0 inside Hoernemann Stadium.

BW (1-1-2, 1-1-2 OAC) won its first game against Heidelberg University (0-3, 0-3 OAC) for the first time since the 2014 season.  The Yellow Jackets tied the Student Princes twice during the span.

BW got the lone goal of the first half when freshman midfielder Julian Kieres (Lakewood) scored his first collegiate goal off the assist from senior Academic All-OAC midfielder Bryce Posner (Aurora) in the 16th minute.

The Yellow Jackets added their second goal when Posner found the back of the net in the 74th minute. 

Between the pipes for the BW was sophomore netminder JT Brenneman (Willoughby/Wickliffe) as he did not allow a goal with five saves.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, March 28 when they host an OAC game against Muskingum University on Seniors' Day on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 2 p.m.
