Men’s Golf Takes Third at Season Opening Mount Union Spring Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team teed off the 2021 season as it placed third at the University of Mount Union Spring Invitational at the Tannenhauf Golf Club.

BW was third of four teams with a two-total 634 strokes on the par-72 and 6,694-yard Tannenhauf layout.  John Carroll University was the champion with 605 strokes.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Logan Bratsch (Olmsted Falls) as finished third with rounds of 75 and 76 for a two-day total of 151.   Senior All-OAC performer Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) and senior Jared Budner (Macedonia/Nordonia) tied for 13th with identical rounds of 79 and 78 for a total of 157.  Junior Henry Neumann (Broadview Heights /Padua Franciscan) ­shot rounds of 83 and 86 for a total of 169 in his first collegiate invitational.  Rounding out the top five was senior Steven Newbould (Parma/Valley Forge) as he carded rounds of 84 and 88 for a tournament total of 172.

Playing as individuals were senior Dylan Boff (Broadview Heights/North Royalton) and freshman Alex Baker (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills).  Boff posted identical rounds of 89 for a total of 178.  Baker in his first collegiate invitational tallied rounds of 89 and 91 for a total of 180.

BW is back in action on Monday, March 22 when it once again travels to Alliance to compete in the Mount Union Spring Fling at the Alliance Country Club.
