Clark Earns Medalist Honors, Men’s Golf Closes Regular Season with Third Place at Battle of Cuyahoga

HINCKLEY, Ohio – Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) was the medalist as he help lead the Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team to a third place finish at the Battle of the Cuyahoga Invitational at the Highland Park Golf Course and Pine Hills Golf Club.

BW was third of four teams with 634 strokes on the par 71 and 6,740 Highland Park layout and the par 72 and 6,748 Pine Hills layout.  John Carroll University was the champion with 628 strokes.

Clark earned medalist honors after firing rounds of 75 and 74 for a two-day total of 149. Senior Jared Budner (Macedonia/Nordonia) carded rounds of 78 and 84 for a total of 162.   Junior Henry Neumann (Broadview Heights/Padua Franciscan) posted rounds of 77 and 85 for a total of 162.  Junior Logan Bratsch (Olmsted Falls) tallied rounds of 80 and 83 for a 163. Rounding out the top five was freshman Ryan Green (Conneaut/Edgewood) as he shot a rounds of 78 and 86 for a total of 164.

Playing as individuals were senior Steven Newbould (Parma/Valley Forge), junior Mike Douzos (Amherst/Firelands) and freshman Alex Baker (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills).  Newbould led the individuals as he carded a rounds of 78 and 81 for a total of 159. Baker tallied rounds of 93 and 103 for a total of 196. Douzos had rounds of 104 and 106 for a total of 110.

BW is back in action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 30, May 1 and May 2 as it travels to West Lafayette to compete in the OAC Championships hosted by Muskingum at the River Greens Golf Course.
