Payne is the OAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

BEREA, OHIO --  Baldwin-Wallace College standout All-Ohio Athletic Conference sophomore men's basketball forward Kyle Payne (Brunswick) is this week's OAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week.  It marks the second time in his career that he has won the award.

Payne scored a season-high 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to record his first double-double this season as the Yellow Jackets defeated OAC-rival Muskingum University, 68-63, last Saturday (Dec. 17) in New Concord. Payne canned seven-of-10 field goals for 70 percent and 10-of-12 foul shots for 83.3% and passed for two assists. He tops B-W in both scoring (13.3 ppg.) and rebounding (6.9 rpg.).


B-W (6-2 overall) plays No.17-ranked Wabash, Ind. College (8-0) on Tuesday, December 20 in the first round of the Don Lane Classic at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. Tip off is at 5:30 p.m. The game can be heard locally on WBWC, 88.3 FM, and via the WBWC web site at www.wbwc.com. The next home Yellow Jacket game is on Friday, December 30 when B-W hosts Alma College of Michigan in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in the Lou Higgins Center at 7:00 p.m.
