Football Alumnus Kasper ’15 Joins Coaching Staff of Philadelphia Eagles

PHILADELPHIA -- Baldwin Wallace University football alumnus Joe Kasper has been named the defensive quality control coach for Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League.

Kasper, who joins the staff of another Ohio Athletic Conference alumnus and 2003 University of Mount Union graduate Nick Sirianni, comes to the NFL after serving three years as an assistant coach at Duke University. While at Duke, he served as the quarterbacks coach in 2020 and as the defensive backs coach from 2018-19.

Prior to Duke, Kasper coached wide receivers at OAC and crosstown rival John Carroll University in 2017.  He spent the 2015-16 seasons as the defensive backs coach at his high school alma mater of Mentor.  From 2013-14, Kasper served as a player personnel and development assistant with the Cleveland Browns.

While at BW, he earned a Bachelor of Science in political science. Kasper was a two-year letterwinner at safety. He appeared in 19 career games and recorded 73 tackles with  five pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery for a 48-yard touchdown. Kasper was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Back Award winner as a junior.

Off the field, he was a Capital One Academic All-American second-team selection, an Academic All-OAC performer, a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda, Dayton C. Miller and Chi Sigma Alpha academic honoraries.
