Yellow Jacket Women Finish Second at Greater Cleveland Meet

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team competed at the Greater Cleveland College Championship Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse. The women scored were second of four teams with a total of 137.5 points. 

The women were led by, freshman Rachel Holowecky (Amherst/Firelands) who placed second in long jump with the distance of 15-08.75. Holowecky ran a time of 9.51 while placing third in the 55-meter hurdles.

In running events, senior Nicole Smith (Geneva) and sophomore Ashley Wakut (Seven Hills/Normandy) finished first and second in the 400-meter dash with the times of 59.42 and 1:02.56, respectively.

In field events sophomore Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/Kenston) and senior Victoria Brown (Berlin Center/Western Reserve) both placed first in their events.  Gallavan threw a distance 51-8.25 in the weight throw and 41-8.00 in the shot put.  Brown cleared a height of 5-4.24 in the high jump.

Sophomore Abby Snow (Massillon/Jackson) who placed third along with season best in triple jump with the distance of 31-8.75.  Also, Freshman Kasey Clouse (Norwalk/Western Reserve) placed third in weight throw with the distance of 46-1.25.

The Yellow Jacket track and field teams are back in action on Saturday, February 22 when they travel to Kent to compete at the Kent State Tune-up Meet hosted by Kent State at 9 a.m.
