Gallavan Places Ninth on Final Day of NCAA Meet

DELAWARE, Ohio – Sophomore All-American thrower and Ohio Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Year Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/Kenston) was the lone Baldwin Wallace University women's track and field athlete to compete on the final day at the 2014 NCAA Division III National Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at Selby Field.

Gallavan placed ninth in the discus with a throw of 146-feet and four-inches.  The ninth place finish left her one spot shy of earning NCAA Division III All-America honors (top eight in each event). 

In addition to the discus, Gallavan placed 21st in the shot put on the second day of the championships. Last winter, she earned Division III All-America accolades in the weight throw.

The BW women ended a strong spring outdoor season by placing seciond of 10 schools at the 2014 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Meet and third of 19 schools at the All-Ohio Championship Meet.
