WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- The BAlwdin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team placed second at the annual All-Ohio Division III Championship Meet at Otterbein University.
The Yellow Jacket women were led by sophomore Melanie Winters (Stow) who place first in the long jump with a distance of 19-01.25, which is a new school record. Winters broke the prevoius mark which she held. Winters placed second in the high jump clearing a height of 5-02.25. Winters ran the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 8.98 which was good enough for second place honors, and also placed third in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.94.
In addition to Winters, senoir sprinter Brooke Hradisky (Aurora) placed second in the 800 meter dash with a time of 2:17.58.
Sophomore Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/Kenton) placed second in the shot put and weight throw with distances of 41-01.75, and 51-03.75 respectley.
The final home indoor meet is next Friday, Feb. 21 when BW hosts the annual Greater Cleveland College Indoor Championship Meet at 5:00 p.m.
