Women’s Swimming and Diving Drops OAC Dual Meet

BEREA, Ohio--The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team was defeated by Ohio Northern in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

The BW women were defeated by a score of 153-87.

Leading the Yellow Jackets today was senior All-OAC swimmer, Chandler Ashbaugh (Napoleon) taking first place in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:17.37, and the 100-yard freestyle with a wall touch of 1:02.09. Ashbaugh, along with sophomore Courtney Severns (Bucyrus), freshman Claire Onchuck (Darien,Ill/Hinsdale South) and sophomore Lena Kortis (Canton) finishing second in the 200-yard medley relay with a season's best tine of 1:59.16.

Also swimming strongly today for Baldwin Wallace was sophomore, Jordyn Miller (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) placing first in the 1650-yard freestyle with a final wall touch of 19:15.39. Miller was also apart of the 200-yard relay team consisting of, freshman Mackenzie Biastre (Eden, N.Y./Eden), freshman Sarah Krupp (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South), and sophomore Nicole Gladish (Fairview Park) with a season's best time of 1:51.64. Krupp, swam a career best time of 1:04.90 in the 100-yard fly, placing second.

Diving strongly today for the Yellow Jackets was All-OAC Diver of the Year, senior Maddie Fortune (Akron/Firestone) placing first with a score of 190.15.

The women's swimming and diving teams travel to University Heights on Jan. 23 for an OAC dual meet against cross-town rival John Carroll University inside the William H. Johnson Natatorium.
