Women’s Golf Ends Season with Eighth Place Finish at OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team closed out its 2017-18 season with an eighth-place finish at the three-day Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by the University of Mount Union at the River Greens Golf Course.

BW was eighth of eight teams with 1,125 strokes on the par-73 and 5,811 River Greens layout.  Mount Union was the champion with 1,003 strokes.

The Yellow Jackets were led junior Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y.) as she fired rounds of 92, 85 and 91 for a championship total of 268. Freshman Rachel Sladky (North Olmsted) carded rounds of 91, 90 and 95 for a tournament total of 276.  Sophomore Emily Hunt (Marysville) posted rounds of 98, 94 and 92 for a three-round total of 284. Junior Erinn Maynard (New London) tallied rounds of 105, 98 and 95 for a three-day total of 298. Rounding out the top five was freshman Maria Simon (Santa Cruz, BOLIVIA/Santa Cruz Cooperative School) had rounds of 133, 109 and a career-low 94 for a total of 316.
