Women’s Golf Places Eighth at Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational to End Fall Season

WOOSTER, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team ended the fall portion of its schedule as it placed eighth at the Eva Shorb Weiskopf Memorial Invitational hosted by The College of Wooster at the Wooster Country Club. 

BW was eighth of nine teams with a two-day total of 776 strokes on the par-72 and 5,830-yard Wooster layout.  The University of Mount Union was the team champion with688 strokes.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y.) as she fired rounds of 89 and 88 for a two-round total of 177. Sophomore Emily Hunt (Marysville) posted rounds of 102 and 98 for a two-day total of 200.  Graduate student Nikki Gannon (North Ridgeville) carded a season-low tying 100 in the first and a 101 in the second for a two-round total of 201. Freshman Rachael Sladky (North Olmsted) as she had rounds of 111 and 94 for a two-day total of 205. Rounding out the top five was sophomore Hannah Durst (Madison) tallied rounds of 104 and 108 for a two-round total of 212

Playing as individuals were freshmen Aubrey Baumler (Huron), Danielle Randle (Chicago, Ill./Lindblom Math & Science Academy) and Maria Simon (Santa Cruz, BOLIVIA/Santa Cruz Cooperative School).  Simon recorded rounds of 118 for a two-day total of 236.  Baumler tallied rounds of 122 and 116 for a two-round total of 238.  Randle had rounds of 137 and 136 for a two-day total of 273.

BW returns to action in March of 2018 whenit will compete either in Arizona or Florida for its annual spring break trip to open the spring portion of its schedule.
