Maynard's Career Tournament Leads Women’s Golf to Third Place at John Carroll Fall Invitational

HUDSON, Ohio – Junior Erinn Maynard (New London) fired two rounds of a career-best 87 for a career-best two-day total of 174 and seventh place finish as she led the Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team to third place at the John Carroll University Fall Invitational at the Country Club of Hudson. 

BW was third of three teams with a total of 730 on the par-73 and 5,811-yard Hudson layout.  The University of Mount Union was the team champion with 690 strokes.

In addition to Maynard, the Yellow Jackets were led by Sophomore Emily Hunt (Marysville) carded a career-best 88 in the first round and finished with a 92 to place 12th with a total of 180. Junior Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y.) as she had rounds of 94 and 90 finish in 16th place with a total of 184.  Freshmen Rachel Lyons (Gray, Ga./Jones County) posted a career-best score of 95 in the first round and followed it up with a 97 for a career-best two-day total of 192. Rounding out the top five was freshman Rachael Sladky (North Olmsted) as she recorded rounds of 110 and 103 for a two-day total of 213.

Playing as individuals were, graduate student Nikki Gannon (North Ridgeville), sophomore Hannah Durst (Madison), freshmen Aubrey Baumler (Huron), Danielle Randle (Chicago, Ill./Lindblom Math & Science Academy) and Maria Simon (Santa Cruz, BOLIVIA/Santa Cruz Cooperative School).   Durst had rounds of 104 and 95 for a two-day total of 199.   Randle posted a career-best 110 in the first round and had a 113 in the second for a two-day total of 223. Simon, who played in just her second collegiate tournament, shot 117 in the first round and finished with a career-best 116 in the second for a career-best two-day total of 233.   Baumler recorded rounds of 127 and 119 for a two-day total of 246.  Gannon only played one round and shot 110 in the first round and did not compete on day two.

BW is back in action on Sunday and Monday, September 24-25 when it travels to Meadville, Pennsylvania to compete in the Allegheny College Fall Invitational at the Country Club of Meadville.
