Thompson Finishes Ninth at NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore breaststroker Tyler Thompson (Broadview Heights / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) finished ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke and earns his first All-American honor on day three of the NCAA DIII Swimming and Diving Championships inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Thompson finished first in the consolation finals in a time of 55.15 seconds and in the prelims he had the 11th fastest time with a wall touch at the 55.63 mark.  

This season, the two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference swimmer won the OAC title in the 100-yard breaststroke in an OAC and BW-record time of 54.68 seconds, which was the second fastest qualifying time for the NCAA Championships. Thompson also set a BW-record in the 200-yard breaststroke at the OAC Championships with a wall touch at the 2:08.25 mark.
