BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:   Tyler Thompson is competing in his second season of swimming and diving at Baldwin Wallace University in 2015-2016. The two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and school record-holder looks to earned his second varsity letter.

ATHLETICS HONORS:  As a freshman in 2014-2015, Tyler earned All-OAC honors in the 100-yard breaststroke (second) and 200-yard breaststroke (third). Tyler was the BW Most Valuable Swimmer and received the "Rookie of the Year" award.

ALL-AMERICAN HONORS: As a sophomore in 2015-2016, Tyler finished ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke at the 2016 NCAA Divsion III Swimming and Diving Championships to earn his first All-American honor.  

SCHOOL RECORDS
: Tyler owns school-records in the 100-yard breaststroke (56.59 seconds) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:10.87).

OAC RECORDS: As a sophomore in 2015-2016, Tyler set an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) record in the 100-yard breaststroke (54.68). 

GENERAL SWIMMING INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2014-2015, Tyler competed in his first season of swimming and earned his first varsity letter. He earned All-OAC honors in the 100-yard breaststroke (second) and 200-yard breaststroke (third). He also set school records in the 100-yard breaststroke (56.59 seconds) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:10.87). Tyler was the BW Most Valuable Swimmer and received the "Rookie of the Year" award. He also had season-bests in the 50-yard freestyle (23.90 seconds), 100 free (54.50 seconds), 200 free (2:01.10), 50-yard backstroke (30.18 seconds), 50-yard breaststroke (27.40 seconds), 100-yard butterfly (59.16 seconds), 100-yard individual medley (1:01.91) and 200 IM (2:01.03).

As a sophomore in 2015-16, Tyler earned his second varsity letter. He earned All-American honors for his ninth place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke at the 2016 NCAA DIII Swimming and Diving Championships. In the prelims he had the 11th fastest time with a wall touch at the 55.63 mark, but he won the consolation finals in a time of 55.15 seconds to claim ninth place. At the 2016 OAC Championships Tyler set an OAC record in the 100-yard (54.68 seconds), a BW record in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:08.25), and a career-best time in the 200-yard individual medley (1:58.66).

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Tyler Thompson grew up in Broadview Heights, Ohio and graduated from Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School.

Tyler swam and earned three varsity letters. Among his honors at BBHHS, he was the Swimmer of the Year, Most Improved Swimmer and a "Coaches Choice" award-winner. He also set a school and pool record in the 100-yard breaststroke.
