BW Men’s Swimming and Diving Loses OAC Dual Meet at John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH., – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving teams was defeated by OAC and cross-town rival, John Carroll University, inside the William H. Johnston Natatorium.

BW lost by as score of, 146-71.

The men were led by junior, Jacob Burk (Bowling Green), who placed first in the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:28.44, and finished third in the 200-yard butterfly with a season's best time of 2:11.65. Also leading the Yellow Jackets was freshman, Kevin Hartenstein (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) who placed 1000-yard freestyle with a career's best time of 10:41.72. Hartenstein also placed third in the 500-yard freestyle with a final wall touch of 5:18.36.

Senior, Nathan Onchuck (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South), swam strongly today for Baldwin Wallace placing second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.48 seconds, and third in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 53.34 seconds. Onchuck was also apart of the 200-yard medley relay consisting of sophomore, Tyler Thompson (Brecksville-Broadview Heights), freshman Alexander Morrow (Winchester, Va. /Millbrook), and senior Sean Rudolph Jr. (Warrensville Heights), which placed second in a time of 1:41.94. Thompson placed second in the 200-yard breastroke with a final wall touch of 2:21.27.

Diving strongly for the men was freshman, Jon Levin (Olmsted Falls) placing first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 149.05, and Da'Qeayce Swain (Dayton/David H. Pointz) finishing second in the 1-eter dive with a score of 131.30.

BW returns to action on Saturday Jan. 30 when they travel to Cleveland, Ohio for a meet against cross-town rival, Case Western Reserve University, inside the Veale Natatorium at 1 p.m.​
