Men Swimmers and Divers Knocked Off by Kenyon

GAMBIER, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving teams were each defeated by NCAA Division perennial power Kenyon College in a non-conference dual in the Steen Aquatic Center.

The BW men (2-7) fell by a score of a 141-81 decision.

The men's team was led by junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Jacob Burk (Bowling Green) with three runner-up finishes.   Burk was second in the 200-yard butterfly in a season-best time of 2:15.08, second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:08.68 and second in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:41.17

In addition, freshman diver Cameron O'Brien (Toledo/Northview) took second in both diving events as he scored 186.42 points in the 1-meter and 180.67 points in the 3-meter.   Freshman freestyler Alexander Morrow(Winchester, Va.) picked up to second place finishes in the 200-freestyle in a time of 1:55.32 and the 200-yard backstroke in a career-best time of 2:08.83. Sophomore All-OAC performer Tyler Thompson (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) took second in the 200-yard breaststroke in a season-best time of 2:21.64 and was third in the 200-yard individual medley in a season-best time of 2:06.93.

In relay action, the 200-yard medley relay team of Morrow, Thompson, senior stroker Sean Rudolph, Jr. (Warrensville Heights) and senior Nathan Onchuck (Darien, Ill. / Hinsdale South) took second in a time of 1:44.28.   The 200-yard freestyle relay team of freshman freestyler Tyler Allison (Napoleon) senior freestyler Henry Hammond (Cleveland Heights), freshman freestyler John Beyer (Columbus/Centennial) and freshman freestyler Kevin Hartenstein (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) took second in a season-best time of 1:36.99

BW returns to action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 4, 5 and 6 when it travels to Fredonia, New York to compete in the Blue Devil Invitational hosted by Fredonia State University.
