Murphy OAC Champion, Women’s Cross Country Finishes Fourth at OAC Championships

FINDLAY, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) is the OAC Champion for the second time in the last three seasons as the women's cross country team placed fourth at the OAC Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University at the Hillcrest Golf Club. 

Murphy, who was the OAC Champion and the OAC Runner of the Year in 2022, led BW to fourth place finish of 10 teams with 106 points. John Carroll University was the champion with 32 points. 

The top-10 finishers earn All-OAC first-team honors while the next 10-finishers earn All-OAC second-team honors. Only the top-7 finishers from each team are eligible for these honors.  

  • Murphy, who was first of 111 runners, earned All-OAC first-team honors as she placed 1st with a time of 21:56.54

  • Freshman Abbie George (Ebensburg, Pa. /Central Cambria) earned All-OAC second team honors as she finished 15th with a time of 22:55.61 

  • Freshman Rylee Barno (Columbus/Bexley) placed 23rd with a time of 23:18.43 

  • Sophomore Katie Plecko (Ravenna/Rootstown) crossed the finish line 40th with a time of 24:05.79 

  • Junior Academic All-OAC Jaelyn Jaquay (Cherry Valley, N.Y./Springfield Central ) placed 52nd with a time of 24:26.30 

  • Freshman Amy Burchett (Grove City/Madison Plains ) placed 56th with a time of 24:31.41 

  • Sophomore Charlotte Jones (Brecksville /Brecksville-Broadview Heights) finished 57th with a time of 24:31.87 

  • Junior Academic All-OAC Cassie Kolonchuk (Canal Winchester) placed 60th with a time of 24:40.39 

  • Junior Ellie Burns (Louisville, Ky. /Assumption) finished 62nd with a time of 24:43.21 

  • Freshman Ali Smith (Muncie, Ind. /Yorktown) placed 64th with a time of 24:47.60 

  • Junior Academic All-OAC Jensen Wolfe (Somerset/Sheridan) crossed the finish line at 71st with a time of 25:01.66 

  • Freshman Madison Prigge (Deshler / Patrick Henry) placed 73rd with a time of 25:09.15 

  • Freshman Brooke Kennedy (Alabama, N.Y. / Oakfield Alabama) finished 92nd with a time of 26:30.35 

  • Freshman Gaby Brown (East Amherst, N.Y. / Williamsville North) placed 111th with a time of 31:05.38  

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 11 when they travel to Norton to compete in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships hosted by John Carroll University at the Silver Creek Metro Parks Cross Country Trails at 12 p.m.
