Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at Ohio Wesleyan Invitational

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team finished in fourth place at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at Liberty Park.

BW was fourth of 17 teams with 97 points. Case Western Reserve University was the champion with 36 points.

The Yellow Jackets were led in the 6k event by:

  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) as she finished 1st in a time of 22:03.2
  • Freshman Rylee Barno (Columbus / Bexley) crossed the finish line at 17th in a time of 23:47.7
  • Sophomore Katie Plecko (Ravenna / Rootstown) finished 22nd in a time of 23:59.3
  • Freshman Abbie George (Ebensburg, Pa. / Central Cambria) placed 29th in a time of 24:10.1
  • Junior Academic All-OAC runner Jaelyn Jaquay (Cherry Valley, N.Y. / Springfield Central) finished 33rd in a time of 24:16.2

BW is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 7 when it travels to Carlisle, Pennyslvania to compete in the Dickinson University NCAA Pre-National Invitational at Big Spring High School.
