Four BW Women's Cross Country Runners Earn Academic All-OAC

BEREA, OHIO --  Four Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country student-athletes have been named to the 2013 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.  To qualify, each student-athlete had to have a minimum 3.495 grade point average or higher and achieve varsity status on his or her team.  BW had the second most selections of any OAC institution.

The four women's cross country student-athletes are Kali Fittro (Tiffin/Columbian), Brooke Hradisky (Aurora), Lauren Hutka (North Ridgeville/Grafton Midview) and Blair Vrcan (Mentor). HradiskyHutka and Vrcan earn Academic All-OAC accolades for the second time  .

Fittro is a sophomore who carries a 3.755 grade average in exercise science. She led the Yellow Jackets five times this fall. Fittro had her best time of 20:13.3 for 5,000 meters at the Calvin (Mich.) College Invitational. She placed 62nd at the All-Ohio Meet, 12th at the OAC Championships to earn second-team All-OAC honors and 121st at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region Meet.  Fittro also competes in track and specializes in the 5,000-meter run. She is a member of the Dean's List.

Hradisky is a senior who carries a 3.799 grade average in political science. She led the team four times this season and had her best time of 19:59.2 at Calvin. Hradisky also placed 72nd at the All-Ohio Meet, 39th at the OAC Championships and 71st at the NCAA Regional Meet. She is an All-OAC competitor in track and specializes in the 800 meters. The Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar is a member of numerous academic honoraries.Hradisky also served as President of the SAAC and is a Community Outreach Officer.

Hutka is a senior who carries a 3.606 grade average in biology. She had her best race at Calvin with a 22:04.9 timing.  Hutka also competes on the track team and runs races from 800 meters to 5,000 meters as well as the 3,000-meter steeplechase. The Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar is a member of a number of honor societies.

Vrcan is a senior who carries a 3.784 grade average in business and management. She had her best race this fall at the Calvin Meet with a 20:36.6 timing. Vrcan finished 88th at the All-Ohio Meet, 41st at the OAC Championships and 129th at the NCAA Regional Meet. She also competes in distance races on the track team. The Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar is a member of the Alpha Lambda Honor Society.
