BEREA, OHIO - The defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team placed fourth and the Yellow Jacket men were ninth today (Saturday, September 11) at the 2010 Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational Meet hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio.

The women competed in a 5,000-meter run and were fourth of 15 schools with Hope College winning the meet title.  The men ran an 8,000-meter race and finished ninth of 14 teams with Ashland University as the meet champion.

For the women, senior Kim Chinn (Zanesville/ West Muskingum) led the way by placing second of 238 runners as she covered the 5K course in 18:35.3. Also finishing in the top five was sophomore Sarah Rospert (Milan/ Edison) as she placed 22nd in 19:28.3. Following Chinn and Ropsert in the top 5 for the Yellow Jackets were senior Karin Coyne (Columbia Station/ Comlumbia) in 32th place in 19:42.3, freshman Lauren Hutka (North Ridgeville/ Graphton Mid-View) in 49th place in 20:07.6 and senior Katie White (Berea) in 68th place in 20:21.9.

For the men, were led by sophomore Kenny Janosko (Mentor) as he placed 11th and completed the 8K course in 26:03.6. Following Janosko were junior Zach Szablewski (Tiffin/ Calvert) in 27th place in 26:45.1, sophomore Andrew Ventura (Avon) in 58th place in 27:31.6, sophomore Nick Jeffers (South Amherst/Firelands) in 60th place in 27:35.2, and junior Tom Wilkin (Powell/ Olentangy-Liberty) in 63rd place in 27:36.5.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action next Saturday, Sept. 18 when they travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to compete at the Calvin College Invitational Meet at 10:00 a.m.
