Women's Golf Takes Fourth Place at Pioneer Classic

MARIETTA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team placed fifth at the Pioneer Classic at the Marietta County Club.

BW finished fifth out of six teams with a total of 425 strokes on the Marietta County Club course. Otterbein Univeristy took first place with 345 strokes.

The leading the Yellow Jackets:

  • Sophomore Brooke Newsome (Clyde) finished 14th and shot a round of 97.
  • Freshman Alana Smith (Fremont / Ross) tied for 15th with a round of 98.
  • Sophomore Hannah Ogden (Poland/Poland Seminary) placed 26th while carding a round of 109.
  • Senior Kaitlynn Olak (Norwalk / St. Paul) tied for 34th and tallied a round of 121.

The second day of the Pioneer Classic was canceled due to weather. 

BW returns to action Saturday, March 25th at the Mount Union Spring Invitational at the Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance.
