Women's Golf Ties For Second at Mount St. Joseph Stateline Shootout

HARRISON, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team tied for second at the Mount St. Joseph University Stateline Shootout at the Miami Whitewater Forest Golf Course.

BW tied second out of 5 teams with a total of 367 strokes on the par 72 and 5,662-yard the Miami Whitewater Forest Golf Club layout. Mount St. Joseph College took first place with 339 strokes.

The top five leading BW:

  • Sophomore Brooke Newsome (Clyde) tied sixth with a round of 87.
  • Sophomore Lauren Neher (Norwalk / Edison) tied 10th with a round of 90
  • Freshman Alana Smith (Fremont / Ross) tied 15th with a round of 93
  • Sophomore Halle Kalaman (Tallmadge / Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary) tied 17th with a round of 97

Playing as individuals:

  • Senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection Kaitlynn Olak (Norwalk/St. Paul) tied 31st with a round of 109
  • Freshman Hannah Ogden (Poland/Poland Seminary) tied 31st with a round of 109 as well
  • Sophomore Lexy Kovach (Strongsville / Magnificat) placed 33rd with a round of 110
  • Junior Chloe Thomas (Norwalk) placed 39th with a round of 143

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, September 11 when they travel to Alliance to compete in the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational at the Tannenhauf Golf Club.
