Women's Golf Placed Seventh in the OAC Fall Preview

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished seventh in the Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Preview at the River Greens Golf Course.

BW was seventh of nine teams with a two-day total of 745 on the 5,808 River Greens layout.  Otterbein University was the champion with 644 strokes.

The Yellow Jackets were led by freshmen Lauren Neher (Norwalk / Edison) and Brooke Newsome (Clyde) as the duo both tied for 22nd place. Neher carded rounds of 93 and 90 for a total of 183. Newsome posted rounds of 86 and 97 for a total of 183 as well. Senior Leah Metzger (Ashland) finishing in 35th place and tallied rounds of 94 and 95 for a total of 189. Sophomore Morgan Briley (Brunswick) placed 37th and carded rounds of 94 and 96 for a total of 190. Rounding out the top five was junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection Kaitlynn Olak (Norwalk/St. Paul) had a career-best round of 103 and carded a round of 105 for a total of 208.

Competing as individuals were freshman Lexy Kovach (Strongsville / Magnificat), sophomore Megan Seitz(Columbia Station / Columbia) and senior Mary Fraley (Cleveland/Mayfield). Kovach led the individuals with rounds of 110 and 104 for a total of 214. Seitz carded rounds of 100 and 117 for a total of 217. Fraley had rounds of 132 and 132 for a total of 264.

BW will close out the fall portion of their schedule on Sunday, October 17th when it hosts the BW Fall Invitational at the Valley of the Eagles Golf Club in Elyria.
