Women’s Golf Takes Runners Up at BW Fall Invitational to Close Out Fall Season

Elyria, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team closes out the fall portion of their 2021-22 campaign as it was the runner up at its very own BW Fall Invitational at the Valley of the Eagles Golf Course. 

BW was second of five teams with a total of 380 on the par-72 and 694-yard Valley of the Eagles layout. Marietta College was the champion with a total of 355.

The Yellow Jackets were led by freshmen Brooke Newsome (Clyde) as she placed third out 33 golfers and carded a round of 86. Sophomore Morgan Briley (Brunswick) placed 11th and posted a round of 96. Freshmen Lauren Neher (Norwalk / Edison) tied for 13th place with a round of 98. Senior Leah Metzger (Ashland) tied for 16th place and tallied a round of 100. Rounding out the top five was senior Kelly Linnabary (Westerville / Central) carded a round of 103.

Competing as individuals were junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection Kaitlynn Olak (Norwalk/St. Paul), sophomore Megan Seitz (Columbia Station / Columbia), freshmen Lexy Kovach (Strongsville / Magnificat) and senior Mary Fraley (Cleveland/Mayfield). Olak led the individuals with a round of 114. Kovach carded a round of 117. Thomas tallied a round of 123. Seitz posted a round of 133. Fraley had a round of 138.

BW returns to action in March of 2022 when it begins the spring portion of its schedule during its annual spring break trip
