Men's Cross Country Places 12th in Great Lakes Regional Championships

NORTON, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team placed 12th of 42 eligible teams as it competed in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships, hosted by John Carroll University at the Silver Creek Metro Park Cross Country Trails. 

In an 8-kilometer event that was composed entirely of schools within the Great Lakes Region, John Carroll University took home the Great Lakes Regional team title with 69 points and Calvin (Mich.) University placed second with 82 points. Therefore, John Carroll secured the regional automatic bid to the National Championships. 
 
The Yellow Jackets were led by: 

  • Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Carter Almady (Brunswick) placed 39th with a time of 24:50:06 

  • Freshman Gabe Ghering (Sunbury / Big Walnut) placed 60th with a time of 25:04.97 

  • Junior Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine) placed 80th with a time of 25:17.87 

  • Freshman Dillon Hach (Medina) placed 111th with a time of 25:48.13 

  • Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Joe Kelly (Lakewood) placed 127th with a time of 25:57.59
