Men's Cross Country Places 13th at Tommy Evans Invitational

NORTON, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team began the 2023 season in the 54th annual Tommy Evans Invitational, hosted by the University of Akron at the Silver Creek Metro Park Cross Country Trails. 

BW, who competed against NCAA Division I, II and III schools, was 13th of 17 teams with 415 points.  The Yellow Jackets were fifth of eight Division III schools.  NCAA Division I Kent State University was the champion with 71 points.

BW was led in the 6K event by:

  • Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Carter Almady (Brunswick) finished 79th in a time of 19:55.79
  • Freshman Dillon Hach (Medina) placed 125th in a time of 20:17.10
  • Freshman Nick Marcovitch (San Antonio, Texas /Johnson) crossed the finish line at 127th in a time of 20:17.62
  • Junior Jackson Tucker finished 129th (Akron / Lake Center Christian School) finished in a time 20:19.58
  • Junior Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine) placed 138th in a time of 20:30.73

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 15 when they travel to Cedarville to compete at the All-Ohio Championships at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
