Men’s Cross-County Competes at Dickinson (Pa.) Pre-National and Bill Lennox Invitational

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's cross-country team traveled to the Keystone State and competed in both the Dickinson (Pa.) Pre-National Invitational and the Bill Lennox Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock (Pa.) University. 

BW finished 24th of 40 with 699 points at the Dickinson Pre-National Meet at the Big Spring High School. Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Carter Almady (Brunswick) was the team champion at the Dickinson Pre-National Meet. The Yellow Jackets placed 8th of 13 teams at the Bill Lennox Invitational with 229 points at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds Cross Country Course. 

At the Dickinson Pre-National Invitational, BW was led in the 8k event by: 

  • Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Carter Almady (Brunswick) finished 97th with a time of 26:20.8 

  • Freshman Dillon Hach (Medina) crossed the finish line at 147th with a time of 26:54.5 

  • Junior Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine) placed 172nd with a time of 27:09.9  

  • Freshman Andrew Piehler (Medina) finished 206th with a time of 27:29.3 

  • Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Joe Kelly (Lakewood) placed 218th with a time of 27:37.8  

At the Bill Lennox Invitational, BW was led in the 8k event by: 

  • Freshman Gabe Ghering (Sunbury / Big Walnut) placed 26th with a time of 26:34 

  • Freshman Nick Marcovitch (San Antonio, Texas / Johnson) crossed the finish line at 49th with a time of 27:33 

  • Freshman Trent Macura (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) finished 64th with a time of 28:06 

  • Freshman Nate Schweinberg (Gilbert, Ariz. / Lincoln Preparatory Academy) placed 80th with a time of 28:48 

  • Sophomore David Seymour (Bozeman, Mont. / Gallatin) finished 83rd with a time of 28:57 

BW is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 28 when it travels to Findlay to compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University at the Hillcrest Golf Course.
