Men's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at All-Ohio Championship

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team competed in the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Cedarville University at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course. 

In a eight-kilometer event that was composed entirely of colleges from the state of Ohio, the race featured schools from the NCAA Division I, II, and III level, and from NAIA institutions as well. For Division III, BW managed to place fourth out of 14 teams, scoring 153 adjusted points. When including participating schools across all divisions, the Yellow Jackets came in 13rd place out of 29 teams with 464 points. Otterbein University took home the Division III title with 25 adjusted points, and Walsh University finished in first overall with 61 total points.

BW was led in the 8K event by:

  • Senior David Russo (DePew, N.Y.) placed 19th on the Division III side and 81st overall in a time of 26:15.7. 
  • Sophomore Carter Almady (Brunswick) finished 31st on the Division III side and 128th overall in a time of 26:54.2. 
  • Freshman Stephen Faltay (Wellington / Keystone) placed 39th on the Division III side and 141st overall in a time of 27:04.7.
  • Sophomore Joe Kelly (Lakewood) finished 42nd on the Division III side and 154th overall in a time of 27:18.7. 
  • Freshman Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station) placed 46th on the Division III side and 165th overall in a time of 27:25.9.

The Yellow Jackets will return to the course on Saturday, October 1st when they travel to East Lansing, Michigan to compete in the NCAA Division III National Preview on Forest Akers Golf Course
