Burdorff Runner-up in Weight Throw, BW Sixth After First Day of OAC Indoor Meet

BEXLEY, Ohio –  The Baldwin Wallace University men's track team is in sixth place after the first day of competition at the 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Meet hostedby Capital University in the Capital Center.

The Yellow Jackets currently are sixth fo 10 teams with 14 points.  Defending OAC Champs the University of Mount Union lead both the men's standings after the first day.  The top three competitors and top three relay teams earn All-OAC honors.

BW was led by junior thrower Tyler Burdorff (Painesville/ Riverside) who earned All-OAC honors and was the runner-up in the weight throw with a career-best toss of 60'2".   Burdorff now has three career All-OAC honors including two consecutive in the weight throw.

In addition, junior Ben Beidleman (Washington, D.C. / St. Anselm's Abbey) qualified for the finals in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dashes. He had the fastest qualifying time in the 200-meter in a career-best 22:25 and the second fastest qualifying in the 60-meter in a career-best 7:05 seconds.  Sophomore Troy Robinson (Akron / Garfield) also qualified for the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes.  He had the fourth fastest time in the 200-meter and the sixth fastest qualifying time in the 60-meter in a career-best times of 22.63 and 7.10, respectively.

The Yellow Jackets are back close out the OAC Championship on Saturday, February 28 at 10:00 a.m. The NCAA Division III National Championship is on Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina hosted by Roanoke (Va.) College.
