BEXLEY, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 Ohio Athletic Conference match against Capital University on the Capital Tennis Courts.
The Yellow Jackets (15-4, 4-3 OAC) took two out of three doubles but the Crusaders (12-4, 6-1 OAC) rallied for the win by capturing five of six singles matches.
In doubles play, junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC standout Peter Harris (Akron/Revere) and junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC player Doug Ganim (Westerville/ Olentangy Orange) won highly contested match by a score of 9-7 decision. Harris and Ganim improved to 20-4 on the season and 63-18 in their careers. The number two tandem of sophomore Nathan Katz (Upper Arlington/Bexley) and Jake Liebler (Medina) won by a score of 8-5 to improve to 13-7 on the season.
Harris recorded the lone BW point in singles action as he posted a victory at number one singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-4.
The Yellow Jackets close out the regular season with a rescheduled OAC match against cross-town rival John Carroll University at the Paramount Tennis Club in Medina at 3 p.m.
The OAC Tournament is set to begin on Tuesday, April 28 on the campus of the higher seed. The semifinal and championship matches are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2 in Mason at the Linder Tennis Center.
