Clark and Bratsch Co-Medalist, Men’s Golf Wins Gatorade Collegiate Classic for Second Straight Year

LAWRENCE, Ohio – Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) and sophomore Logan Bratsch (Olmsted Falls) were the co-medalists as the Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team won the season opening Gatorade Collegiate Classic hosted by The College of Wooster at the Zoar Village Golf Course for the second consecutive year.

BW, who won four fall invitationals and two spring invitationals a season ago, was first of nine teams with a two-day total of 595 on the par-72 and 6,730-yard  Zoar layout. Marietta College finished five strokes behind in second place.

Clark, who claimed his third career medalist honor, carded a 73 and shot a career-low and second round-low 70 for a two-round total of 143.  Bratsch, who earns his first medalist honor, fired a career-best round of 71 and followed with 72 for a tournament total of 143. 

In addition to Clark and Bratsch for the Yellow Jackets, senior Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) carded rounds of 75 and 77 for an invitational total of 152.  Sophomore Steven Newbould (Parma/Valley Forge) tallied a career-low round of 76 and an 81 for a two-day total of 157.  Rounding out the top five was junior Jared Budner (Macedonia/Nordonia) as he posted rounds of 79 and 82 for a total of 161.

Playing as an individual, sophomore Dylan Boff (Broadview Heights/North Royalton) had a round of 78 and a career-low 73 for a two-round total of 151.

BW is back in action on Friday and Saturday, September 6-7 when it travels to Alliance to compete in the Malone University Fall Invitational at the Tannenhauf Golf Club.
