BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Head Wrestling Coach Jamie Gibbs has had a constant smile on his face for the past two years, and for good reason.  The past two years, his Yellow Jacket team has simply dominated the Ohio Athletic Conference, winning two straight OAC titles and making its mark both regionally and nationally.

On the eve of starting the 2017-2018 season, Gibbs and his squad are on the verge of matching school history. If his team, which is picked first in the OAC Coaches Preseason Poll, wins another OAC crown, it will tie the 1971 through 1973 teams for the most consecutive OAC titles.

"We are excited to get started," said Gibbs, who is always joined at BW home matches by his wife Jayna and his two young sons who ramble about the Lou Higgins Center in their singlets and are chased by Jayna and Gibbs' good friends, BW Head Baseball Coach Brian Harrison and his wife Tracey.

"We return a very experienced team, including nine guys who started at last year's NCAA egional tournament, three guys who wrestled at the Division III National Tournament and an All-American in junior Anthony Arroyo," said Gibbs. "So, understandable, we are very, very excited."
